Padayun sa Panaghiusa: Panagtapok 2025 Concludes with Resounding Success

The gymnasium buzzed with excitement and anticipation as PANAGTAPOK 2025 kicked off—a vibrant start to what would become a resounding success. Held on June 26 and 28, 2025, the two-day event, with the theme “Panaghiusang Estudyante: Building Bridges, Growing Roots,” became a meaningful celebration of unity and fresh beginnings. It marked the joyful start of senior high school life for Assumption College of Davao’s Grade 11 students.

“Panagtapok,” a Visayan word meaning “gathering,” reflects the heart of this annual event organized by the Senior High School Guidance Office under the Search & Growth Center. Held before official classes begin, PANAGTAPOK brings together Grade 11 students to help them ease into senior high school life. Through interactive and reflective activities, the event encourages self-awareness, builds confidence, and fosters new friendships—laying a strong foundation for their academic journey.

Students gave their all in competitive games such as “The Longest Line” and “Arrange Yourselves,” which demanded quick thinking, teamwork, and coordination under time pressure. With their team flags waving proudly, the gymnasium echoed with laughter and cheers as groups worked together and enjoyed the friendly challenges.

In the afternoon, the atmosphere shifted to a more reflective tone. Students engaged with worksheets designed to help them explore their dominant learning styles and reflect on the relationships they’ve built so far. The event concluded with a lively community dance—a fitting finale to the vibrant energy that had thrummed throughout the day.

For the students, this year’s PANAGTAPOK left a lasting impression, with many expressing a wide range of emotions throughout the day. “My experience throughout the activities was really good. I felt overwhelmed, thrilled, and a little stressed—especially during the games, because my competitive side really came out,” shared one student. Another remarked, “I felt unexpectedly happy there, considering I didn’t know anyone at first.”

More than just a series of activities, PANAGTAPOK 2025 became a meaningful experience that resonated deeply with many students. As they face the uncertainties of senior high school life, it becomes even more important to find strength in unity, purpose in shared stories, and hope in the relationships they will build with one another.

May future Panagtapok events continue to serve as meaningful stepping stones for the Senior High School community of ACD—padayun ta sa panaghiusa!
