Assumption College of Davao (ACD) proudly celebrates another milestone in its commitment to research excellence as two research teams from the Teacher Education Department successfully published their studies in the International Review of Multidisciplinary Research, Volume 1, Nos. 8 and 9 (2026).
The first published study, “Parenting Style and Peer Influence as Predictors of Academic Engagement of Junior High School Students,” was authored by John Paul T. Wong, MAEd-TGenSCI, together with student researchers Benjie N. Bravo, Jema A. Oriz, and Racean Dave Pulleda. The study examines how parenting practices and peer relationships influence students’ academic engagement, providing valuable insights for educators, parents, and school administrators.
The second publication, “Digital Literacy and Student Engagement as Factors of Flexible Thinking in Learning,” was authored by John Paul T. Wong, MAEd-TGenSCI, in collaboration with student researchers Joan M. Lepon, Kyla Mae P. Narag, Louella Mar A. Paran, and Aljuven A. Villarosa. The research highlights the significant roles of digital literacy and student engagement in developing learners’ flexible thinking skills within contemporary educational settings.
These international publications reflect the dedication, scholarly competence, and collaborative spirit of ACD’s faculty and students in producing research that addresses relevant educational issues. This achievement reflects the institution’s continuing efforts to strengthen research and encourage meaningful scholarly work among its faculty and students.
