Assumption College of Davao—College Department’s Grand Celebration of Growth and Connection
The Gym of Assumption College of Davao (ACD) came alive with a vibrant mix of music, dance, and camaraderie as the College Department celebrated its annual solidarity night, fittingly named “Era of Solidarity.” With the theme “Echoes of Progress: Celebrating Growth and Connection,” the event was a resounding success, aligning perfectly with ACD’s advocacy of promoting youth empowerment and equality.
The theme of “Echoes of Progress” was a gesture towards the artist T.S., whose music and messages resonate strongly with these values. Swift’s focus on self-expression, personal growth, and embracing change perfectly aligns with the college’s goal of empowering students to confidently express themselves and make a positive impact on society.
Each of the college departments took inspiration from different eras of the aforementioned artist’s famous career, adding a unique and creative touch to the evening. The Education Program embraced the “Midnight Era,” the BSBA Program embodied the “Lover Era,” BSSW embraced the “Fearless Era,” BSIT embodied the “Red Era,” BSHM took on the “Speak Now Era,” the KASAMA Student Council represented the “1989 Era,” and the faculty and staff embraced the “Folklore Era.”
The event, held on September 15, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, was more than just a party. It featured a diverse range of activities and programs designed not only to showcase the talents and skills of the participants and attendees but also to incorporate activities and games that highlighted important social issues.
After a sumptuous dinner, the most anticipated part of the evening, the Solidarity Dance, commenced with a special guest appearance by DJ Fonz Bulao. The Solidarity Dance had everyone on their feet, dancing the night away and creating memories that would last a lifetime.
